The Increasing Usage of Mobile Phones

Why are you still using the land-line if its function can be replaced much better by your mobile phone? Do you remember last time you heard your land-line ringing? If you forgot, you may be one of those who have just found that your old traditional wired phone actually doesn’t bring many benefits any more. If you seriously think about this, you just can’t understand why you still keep the old phone while it only collects dust and one more bill to pay every month. And if you recalculate how much money you have spent for your land-line so far, in other hand the land-line service has not gotten any better, you may consider eliminating it from your family’s life and save more money for other important purposes.


Nowadays the use of telephone land-lines is decreasing and the usage of mobile phones is increasing. Yes, now less people using land lines. According to a survey conducted by Harris Interactive® between October 2007 and January 2008, almost 89% or nine in ten adults have a cellular phone. This shows a significant increase from 77% in October – December 2006 when they conducted a similar survey. As cell phone signal and its features is greatly improved, this wireless phone has totally replaced the land-line’s function and bringing new way of mobile communication for many people.

Mobile phone has many features and applications that the land-line certainly cannot give. People are not only able to communicate anytime anywhere, the people love mobile phone also because its ability to provide flexible internet access that has become unavoidable need in modern living. With the mobile phone in our hands, we can now access the internet anywhere we are, checking incoming emails, reading news, or accessing Yahoo using T-Mobile service for those who are in UK and Europe (Yahoo wins Tmobile). Mobile phone has made the communication more efficient.
